Accumulated Other Comprehensive Income (AOCI) is a space designated for unrealized profits or losses on items that are place in the other comprehensive income category. A transaction is considered “unrealized” when it has not been completed but the value of the underlying items has changed enough to warrant reporting.

AOCI appears on the balance sheet in the shareholder equity section of a company’s financial statements.
